This role supports the Environmental and Social team in the CCMES region by providing analytical and operational support across E&S functions including due diligence, supervision, data analysis, and client coordination.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the review of new investment projects, including preliminary E&S risk screening and review of client documentation
- Support the preparation of draft E&S inputs for internal investment documents, including gap analyses against IFC Performance Standards and contributions to Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs)
- Support ongoing supervision of active investments by reviewing Annual Monitoring Reports, tracking ESAP implementation, and contributing to internal risk assessments
- Assist in the preparation of supervision summaries, including synthesis of key issues such as incidents, non-compliance, and emerging risks
- Provide support for planning and preparation of supervision missions and site visits
- Consolidate and analyze E&S data across the portfolio, including key performance indicators and trends related to compliance and risk
- Support the preparation of internal briefing notes, summaries, and simple dashboards for management
- Assist in coordinating with investment teams, clients, and external consultants
- Prepare background materials and input for client meetings and internal discussions
- Support the delivery of E&S-related training or knowledge-sharing activities where needed
- Provide support to the E&S team and manager on operational and administrative tasks, including document organization, preparation of presentations, follow-up on action items, and tracking of key deliverables
- Contribute to improving team efficiency through better organization and standardization of outputs
- Gain hands-on experience in the application of IFC Performance Standards and E&S risk management across the investment cycle
- Develop skills in analytical work, client interaction, and operational delivery within a country office setting
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field
- 2-6 years of relevant professional experience
- Strong interest in sustainable development, environmental and social risk management
- Solid analytical and writing skills
- Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage
- Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
