WBG Pioneer - Reproducibility Intern

The WBG Pioneer Internship offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience supporting the World Bank Reproducible Research Initiative. Interns assist in verifying reproducibility of working papers and packages, contributing to global research standards and gaining hands-on experience in research verification processes.

Responsibilities

• Verifying the stability of results in reproducibility packages analyzed from the PRWP series
• Checking the reproducibility of exhibits in working papers from the PRWP series
• Reviewing reproducibility packages posted in the World Bank’s Reproducible Research Repository and flagging incomplete packages or inconsistent metadata

Requirements

• General data literacy and strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with the structure of empirical economics papers
• Willingness to learn LaTeX (used for review reports; guidance provided)
• Knowledge of Stata or R is preferred but not required; no prior programming experience is necessary
• Commitment of 15-20 hours per week
• The internship can be performed remotely or in Washington DC
• The internship is unpaid and requires an academic letter of support confirming that the student will meet academic requirements for at least one term/semester upon satisfactory completion of the internship
• No-Fee Internship Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in a Master's, PhD, or similar graduate program or undergraduate/graduate studies with a stipend from their university equivalent to the minimum STT T1 fee level, confirmed by an official university letter
