The World Bank Group's Internship Program offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a high impact learning experience in global development. The intern will contribute to analytical and operational work examining health financing mechanisms and resource mobilization instruments to support health sector objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and evidence syntheses on financing instruments supporting health sector objectives.
  • Develop country case studies and comparative databases documenting experiences with financing instruments.
  • Contribute to background notes, policy briefs, technical reports, management presentations, and knowledge products.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials, synthesis products, and support knowledge-sharing activities such as consultations and webinars.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial sustainability, improve incentives for results, and leverage additional resources within health sector programs.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, an undergraduate program with provision of official documentation confirming academic credit or external funding.
  • Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group’s mission, with preference for those with interest in health finance, public finance, capital markets, sustainability-related finance, impact measurement, or international development.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with preference for those with experience in R, Python, and data science.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including writing for a general non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role
