Associate Senior Solutions Architect

The Associate Senior Solutions Architect leads complex projects in solution architecture, application modernization, and technology delivery within the World Bank's Corporate Digital Backbone unit. The role involves designing modern application architectures, promoting AI-enabled development, and providing technical leadership to support the digital transformation of corporate services.

Responsibilities

• Design and promote modern application architectures, reusable frameworks, and integration patterns.
• Lead modernization initiatives that improve delivery speed, maintainability, scalability, and solution quality.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-enabled SDLC capabilities, including AI-assisted development, testing, and developer productivity tools.
• Measure adoption, developer experience, and productivity outcomes.
• Provide continuous feedback to Enterprise Architecture and ITSTO teams.
• Promote modern QA, test automation, and continuous testing practices.
• Support AI-assisted test generation, automated quality controls, and CI/CD-integrated testing.
• Monitor quality, automation, and delivery metrics.
• Support adoption of application frameworks, DevOps practices, APIs, and low-code/no-code platforms.
• Operationalize enterprise-approved SDLC/ADLC and engineering standards across Corporate development teams.
• Provide architecture guidance, technical mentoring, and developer enablement.
• Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and modernization discussions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and 8+ years progressively responsible experience; or a bachelor's with a Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in solution architecture, application development, software engineering, application modernization, or technology delivery.
• Recommended Certifications - SAFe for Architects (ARCH), Certified Solutions Architect (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI), Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer –Professional, SAFe DevOps.
• Experience in solution architecture, application development, application modernization, or engineering enablement.
• Experience with cloud-native development, APIs, DevOps, SDLC/ADLC, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, developer productivity initiatives, quality engineering, or test automation.
• Strong architecture, stakeholder management, and technical leadership capabilities.
• Proven ability to prioritize effectively, act decisively, and maintain momentum under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to champion new ways of working and constructively challenge the status quo.
• Proven ability to connect day-to-day decisions to strategic goals and engage stakeholders with credibility.
