Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer

The Associate Senior AI Solutions Officer leads complex AI initiatives within the World Bank's Corporate Digital Backbone unit, providing technical leadership, designing AI architectures, and ensuring operational readiness and governance compliance. The role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating delivery of AI-enabled business solutions, and serving as a technical liaison with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and guidance across multiple AI initiatives.
• Review architectures, designs, and implementation approaches.
• Mentor AI Solutions Officers and promote best practices.
• Lead the design of AI agents, orchestration solutions, MCP servers, APIs, and knowledge platforms.
• Establish reusable architectures, design patterns, and implementation standards.
• Coordinate delivery of complex AI-enabled business solutions.
• Oversee implementation, operational readiness, and solution performance.
• Drive continuous improvement across AI initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise AI governance, security, and responsible AI requirements.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison between business stakeholders and Enterprise AI teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and 8+ years progressively responsible experience; or Bachelor’s with 10+ years; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Recommended Certifications - Certification in AI Ethics, Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, Google Machine Learning Engineer, Google Generative AI Leader, SAFe DevOps or SAFe for Architects.
• Experience leading complex AI or automation initiatives.
• Experience providing technical leadership across multiple projects or teams.
• Experience designing AI-enabled solutions, integrations, and orchestration capabilities.
• Strong mentoring, stakeholder management, and solution architecture skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize effectively, act decisively, and maintain momentum under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to champion new ways of working and constructively challenge the status quo.
• Proven ability to connect day-to-day decisions to strategic goals and engage stakeholders with credibility.
