The Partnership Analyst leads country-level analytical and partnership support to advance UNV’s volunteer mobilization agenda in South Sudan. The role involves strategic partnership analysis, business intelligence, operational coordination, and overseeing UN Volunteers supporting Field Unit activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain partnerships at the country level with UN agencies, government institutions, civil society and partners to advance UNV’s mandate and integrate volunteer solutions into programme delivery.
  • Participate in UN collective planning processes to integrate volunteerism in their implementation.
  • Analyze UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, Country Programme Documents, and sectoral strategies to identify priority entry points for volunteer solutions.
  • Analyze partner demand and contribute to country-level volunteer mobilization strategies.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for deployment of onsite and online Volunteers across development, humanitarian, and peace portfolios.
  • Promote volunteerism at the field level through outreach activities and awareness campaigns.
  • Articulate and present UNV’s value proposition and volunteer modalities to partners through data-driven materials.
  • Support national talent attraction and pipeline management in coordination with Regional Talent Acquisition Analyst.
  • Develop and maintain structured country-level business intelligence on UN partner mandates, programme pipelines, and emerging priorities.
  • Monitor mobilization trends, track key performance indicators, and use corporate tools to support planning and strategic decision making.
  • Contribute to adapting regional volunteer mobilization priorities into country-specific recommendations.
  • Contribute to identification of thematic volunteer solutions, pilot initiatives, and joint approaches aligned with national needs and UN priorities.
  • Coordinate with Field Security Officer and host entities to ensure UN Volunteers comply with security policies and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure timely and compliant medical evacuation support for UN Volunteers.
  • Maintain regular contact and conduct field visits to support well-being and performance of UN Volunteers.
  • Develop and manage the Field Unit’s annual work plan and performance indicators, including management of operational support funds and budget.
  • Facilitate effective functioning of the UNV country presence by ensuring coordinated service delivery and supportive work environment.
  • Manage UNV assigned personnel within the Field Unit including supervision, performance assessment and capacity development.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in partnership, social sciences, international development, project management, public/business administration or related fields is required, or a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) in partnerships, development cooperation, international relations, research, programme analysis, preferably in a humanitarian, development and/or peace related field.
  • Experience in partnerships, inter-agency collaboration, or stakeholder engagement is required.
  • Experience conducting analytical work such as partner mapping, business intelligence, demand analysis, preparation of briefs, concept notes, or knowledge products.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable inputs.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard office software and digital collaboration tools.
  • Openness to embrace Digital Transformation and use of new technologies.
  • Experience working directly with the United Nations system, UNDP, UNV, or other international organizations is an asset.
  • Previous experience in volunteer management, promotion of volunteerism, or engagement with civil society organizations is a distinctive advantage.
  • Experience supporting partnership development is a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in English and in the local language of the duty station
