Vocational Training Instructor - (AC Refrigerator) - Daily Paid Opportunity - Grade 9 - TVET program

The Vocational Training Instructor supports the design and delivery of learning programmes and curricula in the AC Refrigerator specialization within the TVET program. The role includes facilitating training, preparing assessments, maintaining employer linkages, applying quality assurance, supporting greening and digital initiatives, and collaborating with staff to ensure a respectful and safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the design and development of learning programmes and curricula including occupational and competency analyses, drafting programme profiles, learning guides and manuals, and integrating new technologies and career guidance.
• Facilitates delivery of school-based and work-based learning programmes including setting up training venues, utilizing facilities and equipment, selecting trainees, preparing inclusive training plans, and employing adult learning strategies.
• Prepares student assessments including formative and summative assessments, practice-based and knowledge-based skills tests, and develops assessment sheets and implementation plans.
• Supports maintaining linkages with employers, workers, and TVET instructors; collects and utilises labour market information; supports skills needs assessments and surveys.
• Applies quality assurance tools and processes across the training cycle according to UNRWA TVET Quality Assurance Framework.
• Supports TVET greening and digitalisation initiatives; assists in designing and implementing green and digital learning programmes; integrates green and digital skills into training courses.
• Collaborates with other instructors and staff in coordinating teaching and learning, maintaining order and discipline, implementing co-curricular activities, supporting Occupational Health and Safety measures, and reporting incidents and risks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Successful completion of full Secondary Education plus two years post-secondary technical education or training with a specialization in General Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Power Engineering.
• No experience is required.
• English and Arabic are required at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Candidates must reside in Syria and be within commuting distance of the duty station with authorization to work in Syria at the time of application.
• Contract Type: Daily Paid Assignment for up to three months, with possibility of extension subject to funds, performance, and need.
• Grade and Salary: Grade 9, Daily Rate 25.63$.
• Additional benefits include 1 day Annual Leave and 1 day sick leave for each completed month of service.
