The Communications & Advocacy Manager will oversee communications and advocacy activities for certain EOF programmatic and institutional communications activities. The role involves planning and implementing communication strategies, event leadership, content production, and supporting fundraising communications to drive systems change in education financing and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement communication activities for EOF’s programs.
  • Develop communications plans for EOF’s programs working closely with Program Managers and Country Leads.
  • Support program teams to implement communications plans ensuring high-quality and aligned messaging, timely and tailored content.
  • Ensure communications activity is aligned with EOF’s broader communication objectives, messaging and branding.
  • Lead the planning and development of communications & advocacy events such as the UN General Assembly or virtual/hybrid engagements.
  • Secure speaking opportunities and identify valuable external engagement opportunities to raise EOF's profile and support programmatic and partnership goals.
  • Lead the planning of EOF’s event calendar ensuring appropriate attendance at high-impact and relevant events.
  • Support EOF’s partnerships team with effective thought leadership and knowledge generation communications.
  • Develop communications streams that support EOF’s fundraising activities in consultation with the Fundraising team.
  • Manage EOF’s integrated content marketing operation including production of written, visual and multimedia content.
  • Manage EOF’s editorial streams developing content calendars, campaign narratives and integrated storytelling approaches.
  • Write, edit and support teams in developing content including articles, blog posts, newsletters, reports, case studies, speeches, op-eds, briefings and marketing collateral.
  • Manage EOF’s social media channels including content strategy, creation, community management, channel optimisation, audience growth and performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is an asset.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years relevant professional experience combined with a Bachelors degree, or five (5) combined with a Master’s degree.
  • Relevant professional experience includes roles with communications and advocacy responsibilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies.
  • Experience leading international communication activities.
  • Experience in primary education, early childcare and development, or skills-for-employment is desirable.
  • Experience in innovative finance is desirable.
  • Experience working in the international development sector is desirable.
