Training and Professional Supervision for Psychologists Working with Children

The consultancy aims to strengthen the competencies of child psychologists through advanced training and professional supervision. The consultant will deliver training on prevention of adolescent substance use and other risk behaviours, evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs, and provide external professional supervision for complex child protection and mental health cases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training on prevention of adolescent substance use and other risk behaviours.
• Deliver training on evidence-based psychological interventions for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
• Provide external professional supervision for complex child protection and mental health cases.

Requirements

• Master`s in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, psychiatry or other related field.
• At least 8 years of practical experience in the direct provision of psychological support to children, including the rehabilitation of child victims of violence.
• At least 3 years of experience providing professional supervision to psychologists.
• Proven experience in providing training in the above field.
• Working knowledge of English is mandatory for internal communication and reporting.
• Proficiency in Russian is considered an asset.
• Deep understanding of UNICEF approaches and recommendations in the field of child protection and psycho-social support of children; experience of work with UNICEF will be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Previous professional experience in the CEE/CIS region and familiarity with regional child protection, mental health, and social service systems are considered assets.
