See your match score & applyThe Project Consultant will support UNICEF’s regional data tech portfolio in advancing the Frontier Data Network (FDN) priorities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves coordinating AI and frontier data technology initiatives, fostering innovation ecosystems, and supporting multi-stakeholder collaboration to leverage AI for program impact and child rights advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, planning, implementation support, documentation, and delivery tracking of selected AI and frontier data tech use cases in collaboration with technical teams in LACRO, Country Offices, DID, OSE, and external partners.
- Coordinate and advance the priorities of the Frontier Data Network (FDN) work plan with LACRO.
- Strengthen data expertise rooted in local realities.
- Expand the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and geospatial intelligence.
- Foster collaborative innovation ecosystems across governments, academia, civil society, and technology partners.
- Support the establishment of a Regional Network for Frontier Data Collaboration.
- Support the development and finalization of the LAC Data for Children Portal.
- Contribute to innovative data products involving AI solutions in collaboration with DID.
- Provide technical project management support across FDN LAC workstreams including disaster resilience, migration-related data innovation, and responsible AI integration across the data lifecycle.
Requirements
- Master's degree in data science, information systems, computer science, public policy, international development, statistics, geospatial analysis, project management, or related field. A first university degree with additional relevant experience could be accepted.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, data/technology delivery, digital transformation, innovation, or AI/data initiatives.
- Fluency in English required.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects across international organizations, governments, academia, or civil society.
- Familiarity with AI, geospatial analytics, data platforms, or frontier data technologies.
- Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean is highly desirable.
