See your match score & applyThe consultant will provide technical and coordination support to the Provincial Health Office in Bolikhamxay Province for planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the UN Joint Programme on RMNCAH in Lao PDR. The role involves facilitating coordination among government counterparts, UN agencies, and development partners, supporting capacity-building, and conducting field monitoring to strengthen RMNCAH service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and coordination support to the Provincial Health Office in Bolikhamxay Province for effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the UN Joint Programme on RMNCAH.
- Serve as the focal point at provincial level, facilitating coordination among government counterparts, UN agencies (WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA), and development partners.
- Support capacity-building activities related to RMNCAH service delivery.
- Conduct regular field monitoring to strengthen RMNCAH service delivery and implementation of the provincial RMNCAH plan.
Requirements
- Bachelors in Public Health, medical sciences, community health or another relevant area including social sciences and social development.
- At least three years of relevant experience in planning and coordinating health programs at provincial and/or district level, with a specific focus on reproductive, maternal and child health.
- Native or fluent Lao language proficiency required; English an asset.
- Familiarity with the Lao PDR health system context and RMNCAH programme implementation.
- Strong coordination, communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively with government counterparts, development partners and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience working in community health (desirable).
- Previous experience with the Ministry of Health, provincial health administrations, UN agencies, or international NGOs in the health sector (desirable).
