National Consultant on Curriculum and Teaching Learning System Strengthening, Including TLM and Teacher Professional Development

Consultancy to support the Ministry of Pre-school and School Education in Uzbekistan in developing a new National Curriculum Framework and guidance for teaching-learning materials aligned with competency-based, inclusive, and gender-transformative education. The role involves curriculum development, teacher professional development, and educational assessment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of a new National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for Grades 1-11 and all subjects
• Review policy on teaching-learning materials (TLMs) to ensure alignment with the new NCF
• Develop Guidance for producing/adapting TLMs to guide the national education system
• Ensure availability of NCF-aligned, competency-based, inclusive, and gender-transformative TLMs
• Collaborate with Ministry of Pre-school and School Education, Cambridge University & Press, and development partners

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Education, Social Sciences, or another related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in education programmes, curriculum development, teaching and learning materials, teacher development, educational assessment, or related areas
• University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field
• Experience working with government institutions, development partners, academia, or civil society organizations
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
• Fluency in Uzbek or Russian; working knowledge of English
• Previous experience in Teaching-learning materials development (desirable)
