The Fundraising Specialist leads UNICEF Ecuador's private sector fundraising strategy, builds partnerships, and inspires businesses and donors to create lasting impact for children. The role involves managing the Private Sector Fundraising Team and ensuring achievement of fundraising goals aligned with UNICEF's global strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Private Sector Fundraising Team.
  • Develop the Private Sector Plan for the country office and ensure achievement of goals.
  • Acquire, cultivate and retain individual donors and supporters.
  • Establish and manage meaningful partnerships.

Requirements

  • A completed advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Management or another relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in private sector fundraising with progressively increasing responsibilities, including direct responsibility for setting and meeting income targets.
  • Familiarity with the private sector is required.
  • Previous managerial experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising people.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing a comprehensive private sector plan aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Expertise in conducting fundraising analysis, identifying growth opportunities, assessing fundraising performance.
  • Proven capacity to develop and implement effective donor acquisition strategies.
  • Demonstrated capability in strengthening individual donor retention.
  • Proven track record in establishing, cultivating, and managing fundraising partnerships.
  • Demonstrated competence in providing strategic leadership across fundraising channels and partnership activities.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining long-term relationships with private sector partners, donors, businesses, and key influencers.
  • Strong expertise in analyzing fundraising data, donor behavior, partnership pipelines.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is desirable.
  • International fundraising experience is considered an asset.
  • Relevant marketing experience is considered an asset.
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
