Driver

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services while ensuring compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols. The role includes supporting administrative tasks and engaging in self-directed learning during non-driving periods, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, integrity, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable driving services.
• Perform routine vehicle care, maintenance and readiness checks.
• Use digital tools and tracking systems for vehicle management.
• Document and report trips accurately.
• Maintain communication and emergency readiness.
• Support office operations during idle periods.

Requirements

• A secondary education is required, along with a valid driver`s license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
• Driving, Awareness and Coordination competencies are required.
• Fluency in French is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is desirable.
• Experience with vehicle tracking systems, VHF HF radios, vehicle recovery tools, airport protocol and mobility tool proficiency are assets.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
