See your match score & applyThe consultant will provide coordination, technical, and facilitative support to the Country Team in implementing activities under the joint IOM-UNICEF Global Programme. The role includes supporting coordination mechanisms, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, reporting, and organizing consultations and convenings, contributing to technical programme outputs and donor reporting.
Responsibilities
- Provide coordination, technical, and facilitative support to the Country Team for the joint IOM-UNICEF Global Programme activities.
- Support coordination mechanisms and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage knowledge and reporting processes.
- Organize regional and national consultations and convenings.
- Contribute to technical programme outputs including desk reviews, mapping and analysis of practices, gaps, and needs.
- Draft and disseminate programme documents and joint reports.
- Support the development of costed national action plans and donor reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Development Studies, Public Administration, International Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in programme coordination, migration, child protection, humanitarian or development programming.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multi-stakeholder or inter-agency initiatives.
- Experience organizing workshops, meetings, and regional convenings.
- Strong report writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, government counterparts, and international partners.
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills.
- Strong knowledge of child protection, migration, mixed migration, refugee and migrant protection, and humanitarian programming.
- Demonstrated understanding of inter-agency coordination mechanisms and multi-sectoral program implementation.
- Excellent project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with UN agencies, government counterparts, civil society organizations, and development partners.
- Excellent drafting, editing, and report-writing skills, with experience preparing technical reports, meeting minutes, concept notes, briefing notes, and donor reports.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills, including experience organizing and supporting workshops, consultations, and regional meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SharePoint).
- Excellent written and spoken English required; Arabic desirable.
- Previous experience working with UNICEF, IOM, other UN agencies, or international organizations is desirable.
- Familiarity with the Central Mediterranean Route and migration dynamics in North Africa is desirable.
- Knowledge of Libyan institutional frameworks, government counterparts, and child protection systems is an asset.
- Experience supporting donor-funded programs and preparing donor reports is desirable.
- Experience developing action plans, coordination frameworks, guidance documents, or technical resources is desirable.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is highly essential; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
