Child Protection Specialist

The Child Protection Specialist will lead and contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of evidence-based and sustainable child protection programmes in Armenia. The role provides technical guidance and strategic support to strengthen national child protection systems and services, address violence, abuse, exploitation and other risks faced by children, and advance inclusive, community-based and family-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate programme/project development and planning in child protection, including situation analysis, strategic planning and programme design.
• Manage programmes, monitor progress and deliver results ensuring effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes.
• Provide technical and operational coordination and support to government counterparts, civil society, UN agencies and other partners.
• Build networks and partnerships with government, national and international organizations, donors, academia and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity building among government and partners.
• Support programme development and strategic advocacy including policy dialogue, advocacy, resource mobilization and strategic programme materials.

Requirements

• Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Psychology, International Development, Sociology, Social Science, Human rights, International law and any other related fields.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Human Rights, Child Protection, Early Childhood Development, Social development and any other related fields.
• Skills in Monitoring and Evaluation, Program management and development, Knowledge management, Capacity building.
• Proficient/Fluent in both English and Armenian.
• Desirable: Knowledge of another official UN language, especially Russian or (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish).
• Desirable: Experience in developing countries, experience in humanitarian contexts, UN experiences, emergency preparedness experience.
• Desirable: Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
