Chief Field Office

The Chief Field Office (CFO) is responsible for managing and leading the total programme commitment of a field office within a country programme. The CFO represents UNICEF in the Area of Responsibility, leads and oversees program sectors and operational service teams to ensure quality results aligned with UNICEF's cooperation programme and country management plan.

Requirements

• An advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, public administration, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development, or another relevant technical field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, project administration or another relevant area is required.
• Strong Programme Implementation, Leadership, Coordination, Community Development capabilities are required.
• Fluency in French is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian or Spanish) or a local language (Malagasy) is desirable.
• Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.
• Familiarity/background in emergencies is considered an asset.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
