See your match score & applyThe intern will assist in preparing communication materials, managing digital platforms, supporting event organization, and documenting projects and events for UN-Habitat Tunisia. The role supports knowledge management and communication activities under the supervision of the head of office and communications assistant.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing communication materials, including social media posts, short articles, newsletters and press releases.
- Support the collection, compilation and drafting of press reviews and media monitoring summaries.
- Help manage and update UN‑Habitat Tunisia’s digital platforms, including social media channels and website content.
- Support the design of basic visual materials such as social media visuals, infographics and presentations.
- Assist in documenting projects and events through photos, short write‑ups and communication briefs.
- Support the organization and promotion of events, campaigns and outreach activities.
- Take notes during meetings, briefings and events, and assist in drafting meeting summaries when required.
- Help organize and archive communication and visibility materials for knowledge management purposes.
- Perform any other communication‑related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), or have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- Preferred areas of study: Bachelor or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Digital Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, International Relations, Development Studies, Urban Studies.
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience but must have a field of study closely related to the internship.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.
- Experience or academic exposure in communications-related activities (e.g. drafting social media content, writing articles, supporting communication campaigns, graphic design, media monitoring or digital communications) is desirable.
- Proficiency in written communication and the ability to conduct basic research and draft concise summaries or notes (e.g. press reviews, meeting notes, short briefs) is desirable.
