See your match score & applyThe Programme Analyst contributes to improving programme coordination, partnerships, advocacy, national capacity development, and financial resource management within the UNFPA country programme. The role involves supporting project formulation, evaluation, and implementation with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and maternal health issues.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation and design of the country programme and its component projects in line with government priorities and UNFPA policies, collaborating with government counterparts, NGOs, and other partners.
- Provide technical support to the design and implementation of innovative strategies and policies focused on sexual and reproductive health, emergency obstetric care, maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response, cervical cancer prevention, SRH in emergencies, obstetric fistula management, and midwifery services support.
- Support strengthening the health sector through participation in development, review, and implementation of national policies, strategies, clinical guidelines, operational plans, and training packages in integrated SRHR and GBV response services.
- Contribute to advocacy and resource mobilization by exploring funding opportunities and maintaining technical partnerships with national and development partners, donors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality of programme and project design by incorporating lessons learned, new policies, and best practices, and establishing execution and monitoring mechanisms.
- Analyze and interpret political, social, and economic environments relevant to UNFPA’s programme and identify opportunities for assistance and intervention.
- Keep abreast of new policy developments and strategies through analysis of policy papers, strategy documents, national plans, and development frameworks, preparing briefs and inputs for policy dialogue and technical assistance coordination.
- Coordinate project implementation through collaborative relationships with executing agencies, experts, government counterparts, and UN agencies.
- Facilitate timely and efficient delivery of project inputs and address training needs of project personnel.
- Support creation, documentation, and sharing of knowledge on population development trends through analysis of programmes, projects, strategies, and approaches for future planning.
- Prepare documentation such as project summaries, conference papers, speeches, and donor profiles to assist resource mobilization efforts.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in medicine, public health, sociology, international development, or other related field.
- Two years of professional experience in the field of development and population activities, preferably in programme/project management.
- Demonstrated ability to work with governments, the academia and development community.
- Excellent report writing and compelling oral presentations.
- Familiarity with the UN system is desirable.
- Fluency in English.
