Chauffeur Clinique Mobile- BASSIKOUNOU

The Chauffeur will ensure the continuous, secure, and efficient operation of the mobile clinic in Bassikounou, guaranteeing regular field missions and access to essential quality services for vulnerable populations. This role supports the national roadmap to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in Mauritania by providing reliable and safe driving services under UN security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure driving of the Mobile Clinic
• Respect UN security procedures (MOSS), traffic rules and authorized routes
• Perform required security clearances, radio communications and mission tracking
• Ensure daily maintenance, cleanliness and good working condition of the clinic vehicle
• Keep logbook and tracking sheets (mileage, fuel, maintenance) up to date
• Report any breakdowns, perform minor repairs and coordinate maintenance operations
• Ensure renewal of vehicle administrative documents (insurance, technical inspection, etc.)
• Handle administrative formalities in case of accidents and maintain vehicle files
• Perform any other related tasks as requested by supervision

Requirements

• High School certificate
• Valid driving license category C minimum
• Minimum three years professional experience driving off-road vehicles
• Knowledge of the country's security situation and road conditions
• Ability to frequently travel in the field
• Good knowledge of driving rules and protocol
• Defensive driving skills
• Good visual acuity
• Knowledge of automotive mechanics is an asset
• Experience in a UN agency or international organization is desirable
• Excellent command of French
• Working knowledge of Arabic and English and knowledge of national languages are assets
