Stagiaire en communication

The internship involves supporting the implementation of the communication strategy of the UNESCO Regional Office for West Africa (Sahel) based in Dakar. The intern will assist in social media management, content production, multimedia coverage of events, document editing, and media relations to enhance the visibility of the office.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation of the communication strategy of the Regional Office.
• Regularly update social media accounts, particularly the Instagram account under the responsibility of the Regional Office.
• Support the presence and visibility of the Regional Office by producing content (articles, photos, videos, infographics, animations, etc.).
• Support multimedia coverage of events involving the Regional Office.
• Edit (montage, layout) the office's documents including annual reports, thematic reports, and all types of paper, video, or multimedia materials.
• Participate in strengthening media relations, organizing press conferences, drafting press releases, and reviewing press coverage.

Requirements

• At least a master's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing, political or social sciences or currently enrolled in a Master's program.
• Experience with civil society, multilateral agencies, or international non-governmental organizations.
• Understanding and mastery of traditional media and new digital communication tools.
• Proficiency in communication production software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, Canva or equivalents.
• Excellent command of French with strong writing skills.
• Practical knowledge of English.
