See your match score & applyThe consultant will design, develop, and facilitate an Arabic-language training course on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) and Countering Hate Speech for youth in crisis-affected Sudan. The role includes curriculum development, training delivery, and assessment reporting to strengthen youth resilience and digital literacy.
Responsibilities
- Design a complete Arabic-language training syllabus according to the UNESCO MIL and Hate Speech Guidelines covering topics such as introduction to MIL, understanding hate speech, recognizing misinformation, responsible online engagement, youth-led countering approaches, and humanitarian communication.
- Develop training agenda, session plans, participant handbook, presentation materials, interactive exercises, assessment tools, and questionnaires.
- Facilitate 10 interactive training sessions in Arabic for 250 youth, including lectures, facilitation of the UNESCO Facticity Board Game, group discussions, and reflection exercises.
- Employ participatory learning techniques including the Facticity Board game and sticky note exercises.
- Design participant assessment tools and collect qualitative and quantitative feedback throughout the training.
- Document participant learning outcomes using interactive methods and analyze feedback.
- Produce a comprehensive assessment report summarizing knowledge gained, participant feedback, lessons learned, challenges, recommendations, and overall evaluation of training effectiveness.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Media, Journalism, Communication, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programmes.
- Proven expertise in Media and Information Literacy (MIL).
- Proven expertise in Countering Hate Speech.
- Proven expertise in Digital literacy.
- Proven expertise in Youth engagement.
- Experience facilitating participatory learning methodologies.
- Familiarity with UNESCO's Media and Information Literacy framework.
- Excellent facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and spoken Arabic.
- Good command of English.
