Consultant - Development of a Guide for the Planning of Curriculum Transformation

The consultant will design and draft Chapter 3 of the UNESCO methodological guide on curriculum transformation, focusing on monitoring, risks, and regulations. The role includes quality assurance for other chapters and ensuring overall guide consistency, supporting UNESCO member states in curriculum reform planning and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft Chapter 3 of the guide entitled 'Monitoring, Risks, and Regulations' and associated methodological tools.
• Provide quality assurance for Chapters 1 and 2 of the guide.
• Ensure overall consistency across the entire methodological guide.
• Develop tools including a results framework template, risk analysis template, monitoring dashboard, and impact measurement template.

Requirements

• A Master's degree (or PhD) in Education, Educational Planning, Education Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the education sector.
• Experience in the design and/or support of curriculum reforms.
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum reform planning.
• Proven expertise in results-based management (RBM), monitoring and evaluation, and risk management.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and monitoring performance indicators, including qualitative indicators, together with a strong knowledge of methodologies for measuring, analyzing, and evaluating results and impacts.
• Experience working with Ministries of Education, UNESCO, UNICEF, or other international organizations.
• Excellent drafting and writing skills in either French or English.
