See your match score & applyThe Project Manager leads the UN Women Women’s R.E.A.C.H Project in Myanmar, responsible for planning, implementing, and managing project interventions focused on increasing resilience capacities of vulnerable women and GBV survivors through integrated livelihoods and GBV prevention interventions. The role involves managing project activities, partnerships, financial resources, and reporting to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the UN Women Women’s R.E.A.C.H Project including planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring the annual workplan and partner workplans, budget, and results framework.
- Manage day-to-day project activities ensuring prompt and adequate achievement of results.
- Ensure effective use of resources and compliance with UN Women rules, policies, procedures, and donor/fund requirements.
- Prepare for audits and implement recommendations.
- Support Project Governance mechanisms, primarily through a multi-stakeholder Project Steering Committee.
- Establish effective project management tools with monitoring systems for delivery of project results.
- Prepare quarterly and annual progress and donor reports, and regular progress updates and reviews.
- Lead field mission planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Design and manage women’s economic empowerment activities within the project scope.
- Explore market context and opportunities linking women to decent work and income opportunities.
- Seek opportunities to integrate livelihood support with GBV prevention efforts.
- Determine community structures and approaches supporting women and girls’ empowerment and resilience.
- Identify and support modalities for financial support provision to partners and beneficiaries.
- Provide substantive technical support and build relationships with responsible parties.
- Manage project documentation and learning.
- Manage project budget and financial resources, write financial reports per donor and UN Women procedures.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor project staff and manage performance.
- Manage capacity building needs and recruitment processes for project implementation.
- Support resource mobilization activities for project scaling and extension.
- Support partner identification, partnership modalities development, and implementation of agreements.
- Manage project partnerships through monitoring, communication, and reporting.
- Analyze potential collaborators and prepare briefs on cooperation opportunities.
- Develop knowledge management strategies for project information capture and sharing.
- Identify and disseminate best practices and lessons learned.
- Provide updates and information for publication and advocacy campaigns.
- Perform other duties as necessary for efficient office and organizational functioning.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A Programme/Project management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience at the national and/or international level in project management including on project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and donor reporting, is required.
- Work experience in the technical areas of gender, women’s economic empowerment, vulnerable women and girls and integrated livelihoods approach is required.
- Experience in establishing strong collaboration and partnership modalities among international and local organization is required.
- Experience in leading a team or having supervisory role is required.
- Experience in the fields of TVET/training, Gender-based Violence (GBV), and human rights of women is desirable.
- Experience in administrative systems and UN system norms is desirable.
- Experience in country and/or region is desirable.
- Experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings is desirable.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Fluency in written and spoken Myanmar language is required.
- Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
