The Programme Associate supports the Programme Team in the development and implementation of effective programmes consistent with UN Women rules and regulations. The role includes research, financial management, programme implementation, and providing operational, administrative, and programmatic support in close collaboration with various UN Women offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the formulation and management of programmes including preparation of work plans, budgets, proposals, and audit support.
  • Provide administrative support to the financial management of the Programme Unit including budget monitoring, financial reporting, payment processing, and use of Quantum system.
  • Provide administrative support to the Programme Unit including logistical arrangements for meetings, travel arrangements, preparation of public information materials and presentations.
  • Provide administrative support to Resource Mobilization including preparation of agreements and follow up on contributions.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing by supporting synthesis of lessons learnt and organization of training.
  • Perform other duties within functional profile as necessary for efficient functioning of the Office and Organization.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences related to development studies, agriculture, climate change, environmental conservation, conflict prevention and resolution is desirable.
  • At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support is required.
  • Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required.
  • Experience in supporting a team is required.
  • Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
  • Work experience with the UN system is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Burmese is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
  • The position is open for Burmese national or those who have working permit to work in Myanmar only.
