The consultant(s) will develop and conduct trainings on gender equality and women's empowerment across Georgia, adapting or creating training modules and conducting awareness activities. They will also conduct policy analysis and produce knowledge products to support national gender equality policies and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and take up existing UN Women training modules on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment issues
  • Design new or adapt existing training modules/sessions for different target groups/purposes in close consultation with UN Women staff
  • Conduct a series of trainings on gender equality and women’s empowerment for participants from different stakeholder groups across Georgia including online sessions
  • Conduct awareness raising activities on gender equality on various thematic areas for various target groups in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia
  • Conduct Training of Trainers (ToTs) for different stakeholders on gender equality
  • Develop a detailed work plan for the assignment
  • Produce a training needs assessment questionnaire and conduct needs assessments of training participants
  • Develop detailed agenda, modules, presentations and relevant training materials
  • Design and carry out pre- and post-training assessment questionnaires to measure participants’ knowledge, skills, and learning outcomes
  • Develop and conduct analysis of pre- and post-training assessments
  • Draft and submit final training report outlining training process, assessments and recommendations for follow up actions
  • Review and synthesize existing policies, legal frameworks, and programmatic approaches to identify gaps, opportunities, and best practices
  • Conduct policy analysis and produce knowledge products with recommendations and actionable guidance for strengthening national policies and programs related to gender equality and women’s empowerment

Requirements

  • University degree (Master’s) in gender/women’s studies, human rights, sociology, law, international development or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, human rights in combination with additional two years of relevant working experience might be considered in lieu of the master’s degree
  • At least five (5) years (seven (7) years in case of bachelor’s degree) of relevant professional experience in the field of gender equality and women’s rights
  • At least five (5) years (seven (7) years in case of bachelor’s degree) experience of delivering trainings on gender issues to government officials, civil society, private sector companies or grassroots’ communities
  • At least five (5) years (seven (7) years in case of bachelor’s degree) of proven experience in developing training manuals, modules and programmes
  • Sound understanding of interactive learning methods and adult-learning techniques
  • Fluency in Georgian and good knowledge of English is required
