See your match score & applyThe Internal Communications Consultant supports the Division of Communications and Advocacy in strengthening internal communications at UN Women. The role involves planning, drafting, and posting internal news content, maintaining the intranet and internal events calendar, organizing internal meetings and events, and monitoring analytics to improve engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, drafting, obtaining clearances and posting of relevant and engaging internal news content from across the organization on the intranet homepage and other internal platforms, in line with UN Women’s internal communication priorities.
- Assist in maintaining, updating and monitoring UN Women’s intranet, including the internal events calendar.
- Assist with the organization of key internal meetings, including townhalls, webinars and other events in collaboration with the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Plan, draft, and obtain clearances for the UN Women bi-weekly internal newsletter, the Internal Update, as well as assist in the dissemination of the newsletter.
- Monitor and collate analytics for the intranet and internal newsletter with a view to improving user experience and engagement.
- Propose innovative ways to keep UN Women personnel informed and engaged on organizational priorities.
- Other related duties and general administrative assignments as required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences, international relations, or a related field; a first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, especially in writing for diverse audiences, is required.
- Experience in internal communications is an asset.
- Experience working on issues of women’s rights, human rights, and international development is an asset.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (Sharepoint, MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in basic graphic design skills, specifically proficiency in Canva is required.
- Experience working in the UN System, or a large development agency is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Working knowledge of another UN official language (Russian, Chinese, Spanish, French and Arabic) is a strong asset.
