See your match score & applyThe Logistics Assistant/Driver provides timely and professional logistics support to the Regional Administrative Officer and Head of Office, ensuring smooth liaison with mission components and adherence to UN rules. The role includes driving assignments, logistical support for missions, and maintenance of vehicles and office facilities.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Regional Administrative Officer and Head of Office in office maintenance and continuity of services.
- Assists in coordination of administrative and logistics support with Mission Support Unit and other mission components.
- Prepares requisitions/Service Entry Sheets and enters data to initiate requisition processes.
- Prepares material request orders for asset transfers.
- Updates relevant databases such as stock levels and logistics project updates.
- Generates status reports on transport and logistics matters.
- Supports development of logistics emergency and contingency plans and identifies obstacles.
- Drives vehicles safely for authorized personnel and documents transport.
- Maintains logs of official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensures adherence to UN rules in case of incidents or accidents.
- Follows UN driving policies, surface transport manual, and road safety regulations.
- Coordinates with dispatchers, supervisors, and clients regarding schedules.
- Supports logistical support services to personnel deployed for mandate implementation.
- Ensures daily maintenance and operational readiness of vehicle fleet including minor repairs and servicing coordination.
- Supports development and execution of logistics plans including vehicle allocation and deployment schedules.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in planning, supply chain management, contracts administration, logistics operations or related field is desirable.
- Working experience using Word processing and spreadsheets is desirable.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the provision of driving services is required.
- Managing traffic forecasting or GPS navigation applications is desirable.
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics is desirable.
- Experience working with the United Nations, United Nations agencies, funds or programs or with an international organizations desirable.
- A valid driving license is required.
- Technical certificates in road safety, defensive driving, first-aid and/or Colombian transport regulations are desirable.
- Certificate or evidence of safe driving records in Colombia is required.
