See your match score & applyThis internship is located within the Capacity Development and Operational Training Service (CDOTS) in the Department of Operational Support (DOS). The intern will support translation, localization, and quality assurance of learning and training materials, assist in managing multilingual content, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery of high-quality French-language learning content.
Responsibilities
- Support the translation, localization, and quality assurance of learning and training materials from English into French, ensuring linguistic accuracy, consistency, and cultural appropriateness.
- Assist in managing, maintaining, and publishing multilingual content using the Organization's translation tool and Learning Management System (LMS).
- Review, edit, and proofread translated materials.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality French-language learning content.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Translation or a related field; or, be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent) in any of the fields above.
- Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or PhD Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PHD Programme.
- Applicants must be proficient in standard office software systems (e.g., MS Office 365 or similar).
- Preference will be given to applicants with a background in translation and demonstrated proficiency in using translation tools (Smartcat, Deepl).
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and French is required for the internship.
- For internships in the United States of America, persons who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 or J1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa.
- The selected person will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and approved employment authorization (CPT/OPT/AT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
