Economic Statistics Intern

The internship in the Statistics Division, Santiago, will last for a minimum of 2 months, depending on the needs of the Office. The intern will assist in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes, support preparation of external sector reports, contribute to maintenance of statistical databases, and collaborate on special projects related to economic statistics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes.
• Support the team in the preparation of external sector reports, including balance of payments and trade statistics, national accounts.
• Contribute to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases.
• Collaborate with team members on special projects or ad-hoc tasks related to economic statistics.

Requirements

• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year or a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
• A field of study closely related to the type of internship is required.
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme.
• Applicants should be a student or have completed a degree in Commercial Engineering.
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.
• Knowledge of English is required.
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
