Develops and executes communication strategies, produces communication materials, and builds strategic partnerships to enhance visibility and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns and promotes UNOP’s goals and campaigns.
- Strengthen online and offline presence of the Office, and ensure consistency in messaging.
- Identify communication trends and provide creative content solutions.
- Monitor and analyze current events, public opinion and press, identify issues and trends, and advise management on appropriate action/responses.
- Develop high-quality communications materials such as press releases, articles, newsletters, briefs and reports.
- Craft compelling narratives and impactful stories; edit and proofread written content.
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the office’s goals.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging posts across relevant platforms.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools; generate reports on reach, engagement, and impact.
- Identify and leverage trends, hashtags, and online conversations relevant to the office’s work.
- Produce various information communications products including press kits, feature articles, speeches, brochures, audio-visual materials, and radio spot programs.
- Stay up to date with communication trends, digital tools, and best practices; provide recommendations on innovative approaches.
- Design visually appealing communication materials such as infographics, brochures, flyers, reports, social media graphics, banners, and promotional materials.
- Create and schedule high-quality, engaging content for UNOP’s official social media platforms.
- Design visual assets, infographics, reels, and short-form videos in line with UN branding guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, preparing monthly insights reports and recommendations.
- Support live social media coverage of key UNOP events, meetings, and campaigns.
- Develop social media toolkits and guidance for partner amplification.
- Coordinate with UN DGC, other UN offices, and external stakeholders for cross-promotion.
- Perform duties as requested.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration or related field.
- A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, journalism, public information or related field.
- Experience in producing engaging digital content on complex topics for diverse audiences is required.
- Experience in developing and executing multi-platform social media strategies is required.
- Experience in analyzing social media metrics and audience insights is desired.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
