Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will support the Economic Commission for Africa's Office for North Africa in Rabat by assisting with media and communications activities including event coverage, media monitoring, content creation, and translation. The internship aims to contribute to the office's mission of supporting sustainable development and economic transformation in North Africa.

Responsibilities

• Participate in media and communications related preparations and research for events organized and covered by the ECA sub-regional office for North Africa.
• Assist in monitoring media reports (local and international) of ECA events and draft coverage reports.
• Assist with the coverage of ECA events by contributing to note taking for communication purposes, press releases, social media.
• Assist with the design of visuals (posters, postcards etc.) and video, social media content where applicable.
• Assist with the handling of media inquiries including interview requests.
• Assist with the translation of media content where applicable.
• Assist the Communication Officer with other ad-hoc activities as instructed.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
• Internships do not require work experience.
• A good knowledge of the North African culture and socio-economic context and culture is an advantage.
• Fluency in French is required for the Internship Programme.
• Knowledge of English and Arabic is desirable.
