The position serves as the link between sponsored families and Plan International, facilitating sponsorship communications and promoting active participation of sponsored children, adolescents, and families in community projects under a human rights, gender, and inclusion approach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality production and timely delivery of sponsorship documents, fulfilling Plan International's commitment No. 6 as a strategy for sponsor retention
  • Coordinate with community volunteers the production of sponsorship communications in their coverage area
  • Carry out assigned programmatic actions in the coverage area
  • Develop positive relationships with sponsored families and communities
  • Increase personal commitment to corporate values and global policies, especially gender and child safeguarding in areas of influence
  • Maintain a culture of high performance and commitment
  • Resolve problems within established frameworks and procedures, escalating when necessary
  • Work with multiple actors and manage multiple priorities and themes simultaneously
  • Provide quick and timely problem solving during emergency response

Requirements

  • Graduated at medium level (bachelor, teacher or similar careers)
  • Two years of university studies in Social Sciences, Business Administration or similar careers (desirable)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in similar work in social development projects
  • Knowledge of human rights, with emphasis on children's rights
  • Ability to use basic computer packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet)
  • Ability to drive a four-wheel vehicle, possess a valid license and be willing to undergo driving tests
  • Ability to organize groups and use interactive techniques and tools to promote active participation in child, youth and adult groups
  • Verbal and written communication skills to generate quality reports
  • Empathy with gender equality, multiculturalism, child safeguarding and rights approach
  • Planning and time management skills
  • Knowledge of Mayan languages in required areas
  • Promotes teamwork and collaborative learning
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and under results
