Plan International Egypt is implementing the Towards an Empowering Future Project in Aswan and Qena governorates to empower adolescent girls, young women, and youth by enhancing their economic and social capabilities and promoting active participation. The Project Officer supports coordination, capacity-building, monitoring, and reporting activities to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and follow-up of capacity-building activities with partner CBOs across targeted governorates, in line with project objectives and implementation plans.
  • Conduct regular field visits to partner CBOs and community-level interventions to monitor progress, provide technical support, and identify gaps and operational challenges.
  • Organize and facilitate reflection sessions with partners and stakeholders to gather feedback, assess progress, and document lessons learned and implementation challenges.
  • Coordinate with consultants and service providers to support assessments, training delivery, and the development and follow-up of improvement plans tailored to partners’ needs.
  • Support the organization and delivery of social entrepreneurship and livelihood training programmes, including mentorship and coaching activities to strengthen beneficiaries’ business development skills.
  • Ensure effective logistical, administrative, and coordination arrangements for all project activities, including venues, materials, participant coordination, and documentation.
  • Collect, analyses, and consolidate data and feedback from field activities, trainings, and partner engagements to support adaptive management and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to project monitoring and reporting processes, including preparing inputs for internal reports and donor communications.

Requirements

  • A bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or similar field.
  • 3-5 years of experience with a proven record of success at a similar level preferably in an INGO sector.
  • Experience working with government entities, civil society organizations on livelihoods, economic empowerment, or community development projects.
  • Experience in planning, conducting, and facilitating trainings/workshops.
  • Strong understanding of the socio-economic and governance context in Egypt, particularly challenges faced by vulnerable and marginalized groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, and deliver participatory training and learning programmes.
  • Proven skills in documentation, reporting, and analysis of lessons learned, good practices, and project outcomes.
  • Advanced understanding of the development needs and their vulnerability of our Primary Impact Groups from birth to adulthood, the root causes of the issues affecting them, and the key actors most relevant to their interests and therefore to our work.
  • Knowledge on gender transformative approaches, working in partnership, evidence-based approaches, and working to strengthen civil society.
  • Providing clear direction and support to team members.
  • Using on-going monitoring and assessment, working closely with project teams to improve the quality of implementation.
  • Interpreting and contextualising data, assesses results and draws conclusions to inform initiatives and clearly communicating the results of evaluation and lessons learned as appropriate.
  • Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to provide management support to budgetary processes including planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels.
