Project Manager - Nature Based Solutions for Flood Resilience

Lead a community-driven, gender-transformative Nature-based Solutions project in Fiji's Nadi catchment to reduce flood risk and strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods. Manage multi-partner coordination and ensure donor compliance, focusing on community-led climate action with women and youth as leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a community-driven, gender-transformative Nature-based Solutions project in Fiji's Nadi catchment
• Coordinate project delivery through the Fiji Climate Adaptation Programme funded by the Australian Government
• Manage a consortium including Plan International Fiji, Partners in Community Development Fiji, and Plan International Australia
• Work alongside government ministries and local authorities including Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways, Ministry of Forestry, Fiji Meteorological Service/NDRMO and Ba Provincial Council
• Ensure donor reporting and compliance, particularly with DFAT or similar institutional donors
• Position women and youth as leaders throughout the project
• Strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods through NbS including sloping land management, vetiver grass slope stabilisation, targeted reforestation, riparian restoration and agroforestry

Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience in international development, climate adaptation, NbS, disaster risk reduction or sustainable agriculture - direct experience in Fiji is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of NbS approaches for flood risk reduction and catchment management
• Demonstrated experience with gender-transformative programming and inclusive, community-led development
• Proven ability to manage multi-partner projects, including coordination with government ministries, local authorities and community-based organisations
• Strong donor reporting and compliance skills, ideally with experience meeting DFAT or similar institutional donor requirements
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with a genuine commitment to local leadership, partnership and trust
• Existing relationships with Fiji Government partners and a deep understanding of community-based approaches in rural and peri-urban settings highly desirable
