Staff Assistant (Graphics Technician)

The incumbent is responsible for implementing photographic and graphics arts programs, operating printing and reproduction services, and providing reprographics support to the Command. This role involves designing and coordinating forms and publications, managing graphic files, and supporting daily graphic creation activities.

Responsibilities

• Implement photographic, graphics arts programs and operate the printing and reproduction services.
• Design, coordinate and elaborate forms and publications and provide reprographics support to the Command.
• Control, manage, and store graphics files.
• Develop pictures and decorations in the production of graphics arts combining expertise and creativity.
• Support personnel on daily activities related to graphic creation and software-graphics equipment.
• Maintain contact with local companies and suppliers of printing.
• Assess new products and make recommendations for purchase of new items, materials, equipment.
• Undertake work as part of a project team or working group as directed or assigned.
• Distill complex information into visual presentations such as information graphics.
• Coordinate with NATO Brand Hub as needed to integrate JSEC products into wider NATO communications.
• Maintain an archive of current and past logos, infographics and other graphic material for use as needed.
• Submit observations in area of expertise and contribute to the Lessons Learned process.

Requirements

• Secondary education and basic training in specific task-related skills, with 2 years’ experience.
• Proven experience in Graphic design.
• Expertise in audio-visual techniques, including the ability to apply creative and technical skills across a range of digital and print media.
• Experience in developing visual content through methods such as graphic reproduction, photography, computer graphics, color reproduction, and the integration of images, text, and design elements.
• Knowledge of media production processes, including the creation and production of books, magazines, posters, advertisements, digital content, video, film, radio, television, etc.
• English language proficiency at SLP 3333 (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
• Desirable: Further training certificates and courses related to subject field or acquired through NATO (e.g., NATO Orientation Course, EDMS User course, NIP Contributor).
• Ability to understand all aspects of JSEC and ACO processes and outcomes.
• Ability to maintain contact with local companies and suppliers of printing.
• Willingness to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises, and/or TDY assignments within and outside NATO boundaries, potentially exceeding 30 days up to 183 days in any period of 547 days, on short notice.
