Programme Officer, Alumni

The Programme Officer, Alumni leads the development and delivery of a world-class alumni programme supporting DIANA’s portfolio of dual-use innovators beyond accelerator completion. The role fosters alumni engagement, investor and partner connections, and community growth to help innovators successfully commercialise their technologies and strengthen NATO’s technological edge.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute an alumni strategy and program for NATO DIANA’s 260+ innovators.
• Own the end-to-end alumni experience through programming, partnerships, operational improvements, and alumni community initiatives.
• Establish a year-round programming calendar, including in-person and virtual events, with consistently high innovator participation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track alumni progress and success stories, translate alumni insights into strategies that amplify NATO DIANA’s organizational impact.
• Implement scalable systems, processes, and metrics that support long-term alumni community growth.
• Develop and execute a utilization plan for DIANA’s network of accelerator sites and affiliated elements to support alumni innovators.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Requirements

• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in business administration, innovation management, entrepreneurship, international relations, communications or a related field and 2 years’ work experience in a post related role OR exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in building and managing programmes or large professional communities involving start-ups, founders or technology companies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of challenges relating to the commercialization and go to market of emerging technologies.
• Proven experience planning, curating and executing large events.
• The ability to communicate effectively.
• Possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages (English/French): V (“Advanced”) in one; and I (“Beginner”) in the other.
• Proven experience working within an accelerator, incubator, innovation, venture capital, technology, or startup ecosystem (desirable).
• Proven experience shaping the development and adoption of digital community platforms (desirable).
• Knowledge of dual-use or defence technology commercialization pathways in particular (desirable).
• Experience with data analytics, performance metrics, and/or community engagement metrics (desirable).
