Engineer (MSS Developer) – Temporary Staff

The incumbent designs, builds, and deploys scalable full-stack applications for the MAVEN Smart System (MSS), focusing on intuitive frontend layers to empower non-developer users. The role involves troubleshooting, optimizing system performance, and collaborating with product and data teams to meet operational demands at NATO Headquarters JSEC.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and deploys scalable full-stack applications for MSS, utilizing advanced programming languages across both frontend and backend environments.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, and refactors codebases to fix existing application issues, optimize system performance, and drive continuous feature enhancements.
• Develops highly configurable backend architectures and actively teaches designated personnel on how to independently manage and modify these backend processes through user-friendly frontend interfaces.
• Collaborates closely with, and executes the technical directives of, the Product Owner and Data Manager to translate strategic objectives and structural data requirements into functional software solutions.
• Actively monitors application health and continuously evolves existing software products to meet changing operational demands within JSEC.

Requirements

• University Degree (bachelor’s degree) in Computer Science, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation and 0 to 1 year of post-related experience.
• Entry-level experience in Solution Architecture, including design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide integrated solutions meeting current and future business needs.
• Entry-level experience in project management and technical activities with responsibility for delivery, resources, and deadlines, including leading collaboration across teams and assessing risks.
• Good English skills, SLP 3333 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing).
• Desirable: Experience in full-stack software development with a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining applications, preferably with MAVEN Smart System (MSS).
• Desirable: NATO Course - MAVEN Smart System Developer Training.
