Driver (Assistant Fleet Manager and Vehicle Inspector) - Local Wage Rate

The Driver (Assistant Fleet Manager and Vehicle Inspector) at Joint Force Command Brunssum is responsible for driving duties, ensuring vehicle compliance with host nation regulations, managing vehicle registration, coordinating servicing plans, and maintaining vehicle documentation. The role also involves liaising with contractors and ensuring vehicle safety equipment is serviceable.

Responsibilities

• Perform driving duties as required.
• Ensure that all vehicles in the JFC HQ Brunssum fleet comply with host nation regulations regarding road safety requirements and that all vehicles and equipment are roadworthy.
• Execute the registration and de-registration of all JFC HQ vehicles.
• Coordinate with vehicle dispatch in the planning of JFC Vehicles servicing planning.
• Prepare necessary vehicle documentation for upload into FINS.
• Liaise with ACO MTM for advice on equipment matters.
• Responsible for raising damage reports and Calculating Repair Expenditure Limits as and when required.
• Responsible for timely renewal of required certification for all vehicles and is involved with the planning of the inspection program.
• Liaise with Local contractors for the service and repair of vehicles.
• Ensure that the information on out-contracted tasks is put into NAFS.
• Check all vehicle fire extinguishers and other onboard equipment for serviceability.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years professional experience in managing and maintaining a small / medium vehicle fleet as a fleet manager / deputy fleet manager.
• Professional experience maintaining a fleet management database system to ensure accountability (status) of vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license categories, B, BE, C, CE, D1, D, DE.
• Knowledge of mechanical principles, use of diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation within the motor industry.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation within the motor industry.
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Tool suite and collaborative IT software.
• Good English language skills, both oral and written.
• Experience working within a military or multinational environment (desirable).
• Dangerous Goods (DG) license (ADR) or DG awareness training (desirable).
• Experience in carrying out safety and technical inspections on road vehicles (desirable).
• Forklift license (desirable).
• Good Dutch language skills, both oral and written (desirable).
• Basic German language skills, both oral and written (desirable).
