The Data Integration Specialist supports the delivery of technical solutions required to integrate complex data and enable data-driven decisions at NATO's Headquarters Allied Maritime Command. The role involves contributing to data integration projects, standardizing technical practices, and enhancing capabilities in project management, data engineering, and data science to strengthen maritime situational awareness and operational decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of technical solutions required to integrate complex data and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Contribute to the delivery of critical data integration projects at HQ MARCOM.
  • Help standardise technical practice and lift technical capability in project management, data engineering and data science.
  • Enable project success through identification, integration and exploitation of relevant data.
  • Ensure data users have access to efficient and intuitive data products and analytical tools compliant with NATO standards.
  • Maintain confidence in situational awareness data through security, safety, integrity and availability of relevant data sets.
  • Develop and adopt appropriate architecture (policies, procedures, guidelines and ways of working) to strengthen maturity and enable continuous improvement in data integration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience of relevant work in data integration, data analysis or software development
  • 1+ year + experience of applying data science tools to support advanced data analytics, machine learning and data visualisation
  • Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training in information technology, computer science, data science or a closely related field; or Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering data integration using AI and or Machine Learning Tools e.g. Databricks, Watson, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit, TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing mathematical and statistical models to resolve business challenges.
  • Demonstrable experience applying data science, analytics and data integration tools/programming languages on real-world datasets e.g. Python, R, KNIME, Splunk, Geo data.
  • Industry recognised qualification / accreditation in relevant field (desirable).
  • Demonstrable experience of data visualisation tools e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau (desirable).
