Building Area Warden - Local Wage Rate

NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum is hiring a Building Area Warden in the Infrastructure Management Section of the Base Support Group. The incumbent is responsible for planned preventative maintenance, inspection, and maintenance of locks and safes throughout JFCBS, supporting building maintenance and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the tasks assigned by the Team Leader Facilities.
• Carry out inspection work including planned preventative maintenance, quality control of external contractors and support works by Host Nation Support for all buildings on Hendrik Camp.
• Support the Building Monitor System (BMS) Operator to optimize climate control systems and electrical installations for maximum efficiency and user comfort.
• Act as the point of contact to relevant building users regarding building maintenance work orders and function as the Building Warden.
• Provide building specific information for design and repair teams for Infrastructure Management Section and Host Nation Support.
• Carry out basic refurbishment work such as hanging pictures, whiteboards, etc.
• Install, replace and maintain locks for security requirements base wide in all buildings, including cutting keys to replace damaged or lost ones.
• Provide support/assist with the change of safe/lock combinations upon customer requests base wide in all buildings.
• Ensure Health and Safety protocols are complied with to ensure safe working of the Facility Team, contractors and building users.

Requirements

• Secondary education and completed vocational training in related field/discipline.
• Good English language skills, both oral and written.
• Good Dutch language skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in Facilities Maintenance including experience using a work order system.
• Experience controlling building heating and electrical systems.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and instructions.
• Valid driver’s license for vehicle class B.
• Knowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical systems (desirable).
• Experience working in a military or international organization (desirable).
