The ICT Officer will design, develop, implement, and evolve digital solutions for key processes in the regional office, focusing on app development, AI integration, automation, and advanced analytics to accelerate and optimize processes. The role supports innovation and digital transformation to improve reporting flows, optimize processes, and enhance decision-making through data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain optimized solutions in Google BigQuery and other cloud platforms ensuring query optimization, data integrity, and availability.
  • Develop and automate interactive reports and dashboards using BI tools (Looker Studio, LLM Notebooks, etc.) to facilitate information visualization and strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights using advanced analytics to optimize project performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand needs, ensure data access, quality, and proper use.
  • Implement and oversee data governance policies ensuring traceability, compliance with protection and privacy regulations, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain and improve existing tools for Monitoring and Oversight unit (IMS, QMR & ICC, AI Media Radar) and related dashboards.
  • Monitor application usage, gather user feedback, and support users in understanding information management systems.
  • Research, evaluate, and propose new tools and methodologies to improve information and project management processes.
  • Develop internal tools and applications (using Python, SQL, low-code platforms) to automate processes and enhance knowledge management.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies including AI to improve and automate UNOPS LCR processes.
  • Provide ICT technical support to team members promoting continuous improvement culture.
  • Plan, organize, and implement innovation projects with Monitoring & Oversight unit.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, bridging project needs and technological capabilities.
  • Coordinate with ITG development team and other technology groups to foster collaboration and build data-driven project management capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology sciences, information sciences, statistics, database administration or related fields.
  • Certification in data analysis and Google Professional AI Certificate is desirable.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Information Science and Technology.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience developing solutions using BigQuery, AppSheet, Apps Script, and Looker Studio.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience designing, developing, implementing, and evolving digital solutions and/or application development oriented to process automation.
  • Experience in data management, processing, and analysis with a focus on dashboard development for information visualization and decision-making.
  • Experience in workflow automation and data integration from diverse sources.
  • Experience implementing end-to-end data solutions (ingestion, processing, analysis, and visualization).
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence is desirable.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
