The Asistente Financiero de Archivo provides technical and operational support to the Finance and Compliance area, ensuring financial, administrative, and programmatic operations comply with IRC internal policies, donor requirements, and Guatemalan legal regulations. The role promotes transparency, integrity, and efficiency in the use of institutional resources, contributing to compliance with IRC global standards and local regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial and administrative operations comply with IRC internal policies, donor requirements, and applicable Guatemalan legal regulations
  • Support the review and verification of expenses and ensure their registration in the organization's accounting system
  • Monitor the correct application of internal control procedures in all financial processes
  • Conduct periodic financial compliance reviews, identifying deviations and proposing corrective measures
  • Ensure proper management of physical and digital archives within compliance and audit frameworks
  • Support accountability and audit processes
  • Review and process travel expense settlements, petty cash, and cash funds in the system
  • Control programmatic and travel advances
  • Ensure contracts and employee timesheets are signed and filed
  • Perform other assigned activities related to the contractual object that facilitate IRC program development
  • Promote compliance with IRC professional conduct standards and policies against exploitation, abuse, and anti-corruption
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and compliance information
  • Immediately report any irregularities or suspected non-compliance in financial or administrative processes

Requirements

  • Student of Bachelor's Degree in Public Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration or related fields (minimum 9th semester completed)
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of accounting/ERP software (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Basic level of English
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative or financial positions, preferably in non-governmental organizations, with emphasis on internal control, expense review, financial archive management, and support for audits and accountability processes
