The Diversity and Inclusion Officer (Gender) supports the project to ensure gender equality and social inclusion are integrated into project design and implementation. The role involves empowering women and vulnerable groups, mitigating risks, monitoring gender-related indicators, and overseeing the Sexual Abuse and Exploitation/Sexual Harassment (PSEA/SH) Action Plan to enhance project impact and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Gender and Diversity focused guidelines specific to the project and its stakeholders
- Support all Project components in all aspects of gender equality and social inclusion
- Ensure FPs hire and retain adequate numbers of female staff and follow the UNCT Mahram policy
- Promote and evaluate the inclusion and participation of women in project activities as beneficiaries and workers
- Ensure FPs regularly consult with female staff and community women to assess safety and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Support assessment of community compliance with the ECA and monitor/report adherence
- Verify FP and TPMA reports of women’s participation with spot checks
- Collect, compile, analyze and report on gender-disaggregated data on inclusion of vulnerable groups
- Input to FP and TPMA monitoring protocols to ensure gender and inclusion data collection
- Monitor policies/laws impacting participation of women and marginalized groups
- Advise on project GRM design including accessible complaint channels for women and girls
- Ensure protocols and mechanisms are in place for addressing SEA/SH grievances and serve on grievance redressal committee
- Assist in implementation and compliance with the Project’s SEA/SH Action Plan
- Ensure training materials are gender-sensitive and contextualized
- Support gender-focused training for Project Team, FPs and Contractors
- Provide transactional support in training management on gender and diversity norms
- Ensure all project workers are sensitized to and have signed a code of conduct prohibiting SEA/SH
- Perform other duties as required by the Head of PIU
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent: 2 years of relevant experience
- Specific gender-focused training by the UN, World Bank or international non-governmental (INGOs) organizations (desired)
- Training in PSEA and demonstration of understanding of the basic tenants of the PSEA framework (desired)
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in gender, women’s empowerment and/or diversity management
- Experience working with the World Bank, UN agencies or other donor agencies, government ministries, and/or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) (desired)
- Fluent proficiency in English
