The consultant will participate in the development, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of new applications with Geospatial and/or AI components using UN standards. The role includes preparing technical and user documentation, providing support for deployed applications, and proposing new tools and libraries.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development, programming, testing, debugging and implementation of new applications with a Geospatial and/or AI components, using UN established standards.
- Prepares technical and user documentation for deployed applications, as well as training materials and conducts technical presentations.
- Provides support for deployed applications including version management and troubleshooting; performs ongoing reviews with users and developers and responds to users requests.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the field; performs benchmarking and proposes new tools and libraries.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience building web applications with React and .NET Core is required.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using JavaScript/TypeScript is required.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using C# is required.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with SQL and REST API is required.
- Experience with Azure Functions is desirable.
- Ability to travel abroad for projects.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the duty station where the position is located.
- Fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
