The Programme Assistant (Database & Scope) supports the effective delivery of assistance packages by performing specialized and standardized programme-related processes, managing project data, and supporting operational decision-making within WFP Pakistan. This role involves data management, reporting, capacity building, and collaboration with partners to ensure accurate and timely programme implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized and/or standardized processes and activities within the specific technical area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide project management and/or general office support following established targets and WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Compile data and support analysis and preparation of reports (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) to support operational decision-making.
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work following corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
  • Support communication and activities with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of general operational queries requesting assistance where necessary.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  • Manage overall projects beneficiaries’ data including data collection, validation, cleaning, and analysis, ensuring accurate entry of complete project data in COMET, SCOPE, and other corporate tools.
  • Overall managing data of all CBT projects.
  • Build the capacity of project and cooperating partner staff on basic and medium level data management skills, data processing protocols and assist with statistical analysis.
  • Compile, analyse and report on project data received from field offices and share progress reports, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure that WFP’s data protection policy is properly implemented at field level by respective CPs.
  • Ensure all COMET modules are successfully implemented including building capacity of relevant staff to ensure all outputs are measured and related analysis and reports are provided.
  • Follow up other outputs required in coordination with Programme technical units.
  • Assist the M&E unit in monitoring and evaluation of WFP activities, provide technical analysis, and interpretation.
  • Ensure accurate data reported, reconciled, validated, and provided for annual standard project reports.
  • Assist in preparation of accurate and timely reporting, infographic presentations on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • A post-secondary certificate or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public health, business administration, economics in the related functional area is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in programme related activities.
  • Minimum 3 years or more experience in database management and monitoring of humanitarian or development projects.
  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu.
