The Knowledge Management Consultant will support knowledge management, organizational learning, evidence management, and information-sharing initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa region. The role involves supporting the transition to the new ECAMENA regional structure while maintaining essential knowledge management services and support to Country Offices and Regional Office teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the ECAMENA Digital and Knowledge Transition Exercise to ensure a smooth transition to the new regional structure.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge management and organizational learning functions that support Country Offices and regional teams.
  • Maintain regional knowledge and evidence repositories and support the Knowledge@UNICEF platform.
  • Manage the regional IMEP repository and facilitate knowledge exchange across the region.
  • Coordinate communities of practice and produce knowledge products.
  • Support organizational learning initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa region.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree) in Knowledge Management, Information Management, Information Science, Library Science, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
  • A first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience in knowledge management, information management, programme monitoring, organizational learning, digital collaboration platforms, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting SharePoint, knowledge repositories, content management systems, or digital collaboration platforms.
  • Experience developing knowledge products, newsletters, reports, or learning materials.
  • Experience supporting communities of practice, learning initiatives, or knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams and cultures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management principles, organizational learning approaches, and information management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools to support knowledge management, information retrieval, content development, knowledge organization, and organizational learning is desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in humanitarian, development, or UN contexts is desirable.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is an asset.
