See your match score & applyThe Community Engagement Analyst will support the implementation of Social Management Plan and Stakeholder Engagement Plan for EIB-funded recovery programmes in Ukraine. The role involves community participation, transparency, accountability, and capacity building to strengthen social cohesion and inclusion in recovery projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the EIB Recovery Programmes in carrying out comprehensive needs assessments, situational and policy analyses to identify priorities and inform strategic and project planning.
- Establish and strengthen working relationships with partners at sub-national and local levels including regional/local authorities and civil society organizations.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate stakeholder consultations and relevant field missions using participatory methods.
- Contribute to formulation of project concepts and proposals, detailed implementation plans, and capacity-building activities.
- Liaise with partners and facilitate communication on project related activities.
- Manage organization of project activities in alignment with implementation plans, adhering to quality standards and procurement policies.
- Contribute to preparation of progress and other reports as required.
- Support planning and organization of Project Board meetings ensuring engagement of partners and stakeholders.
- Execute work missions.
- Support assessments to identify local community recovery and development needs and priorities.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and develop stakeholder engagement strategies including vulnerable and seldom-heard groups.
- Support establishment of cross-sectoral partnerships for local initiatives.
- Facilitate collaborations between public authorities and multiple stakeholders within regional development projects.
- Work with local and regional stakeholders to support community-led initiatives.
- Provide support in resource mobilization strategies for community-led initiatives and projects.
- Support communication and networking with donors, NGOs, and UN agencies to build synergy.
- Work as a trainer and resource person in trainings for communities and partners.
- Identify, communicate and share best practices and lessons learned from local initiatives.
- Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
- Proactively share information with the IG team and UNDP country office.
- Support implementation of communication plans and dissemination of communication products.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other UN agencies, governmental institutions, NGOs on monitoring and evaluation issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and UNDP Ukraine Leadership.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, Political Science, Media or other related fields is required.
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the fields described above in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Master’s degree.
- Applicants with a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in regional or community development or related areas.
- Experience in capacity development and training in the areas of stakeholders/community engagement, community mobilization, environmental and social monitoring would be an advantage.
- Experience in civil society development and civic activism would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with social and environmental standards of international organizations/institutions, in particular EIB Environmental and Social standards, would be an advantage.
- Experience of working/liaisoning with UNDP or other UN agencies and evidence of knowledge of the respective policies and procedures will be considered an asset.
- Experience in organizing events (forums, conferences, etc.) at national or sub-national levels (please list at least 5 events) is desired.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Ukrainian is required for local personnel.
