You will provide support in the field of civil engineering to senior team members working on FCC civil engineering preparatory activities, including site investigations, geotechnical engineering, structural and civil design. The role involves preparing technical and contractual documentation and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Undertake discreet technical tasks in site investigations, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering and planning of preparatory civil engineering activities.
- Contribute to maintaining the schedule for FCC civil engineering preparatory activities.
- Support technical and administrative work related to permitting and authorisation files required by CERN.
- Interact and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across interfacing, technical and administrative disciplines, including activities outside CERN sites such as site investigations or environmental condition surveys.
- Prepare technical documentation for contracts and services associated with the FCC civil engineering programme, with support from other team members.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in civil and/or geotechnical engineering, including buried and underground structures.
- Experience in preparing technical specifications and managing consultancy and construction contracts for civil engineering design and construction activities.
- Broad understanding of civil engineering in other areas such as buildings, drainage, roads and buried networks.
- Proven record of data management in the field of civil engineering.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to set priorities and plan tasks with results in mind.
- Ability to define clear objectives, milestones and deliverables before initiating work/project.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and requirements.
- Willingness to accept new tasks or work/projects.
- Spoken and written proficiency in both English and French.
- A valid driving licence.
- Availability to work shifts, including nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
