The internship position supports the Circular Resource Efficiency Unit (TCS/CEG/CRE) in promoting circular economy policies, programmes, and practices. The intern will assist in developing circular economy roadmaps, conducting research, preparing communication materials, and contributing to stakeholder engagement under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Circular Economy (CE) roadmaps, including background research, data collection, and analysis of sectoral opportunities and challenges.
  • Compile and synthesize best practices, case studies, and policy frameworks related to circular economy at national and international levels.
  • Assist in drafting technical inputs, background notes, and sections of CE roadmap documents.
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping and preparation of materials for consultations, workshops, and meetings related to CE roadmap development.
  • Prepare and design PowerPoint presentations, visual materials, and knowledge products to support communication of CE concepts and findings.
  • Draft and edit communication materials (e.g. short articles, summaries, briefs) related to CE initiatives and roadmap processes.
  • Engage in other emerging tasks and special projects that contribute to the objectives of the Division and enhance the learning experience, particularly in relation to circular economy strategies and implementation.
  • Prepare an end-of-internship report, which will be submitted to and cleared by HRM.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a second level university degree programme (master's or equivalent) or higher; or begin the internship within one year of completing a second level university degree; or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first degree programme (bachelor's or equivalent); or begin the internship within one year of completing a first level university degree. Only accredited institutions will be considered.
  • Field of specialization: Political Science, Circular Economy, International Relations or Environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
  • Interest or experience in visual design, content development, and outreach in the context of circular economy, sustainability, or resource efficiency.
